    Lean Manufacturing Concept is a systematic approach for identifying and eliminating waste in operations through continuous improvement for doing everything more efficiently, reducing the cost of operating the system and fulfilling the customers desire for maximum value at the lowest price. Many organizations have realized the capability of producing high quality products more economically even in lower volume half the time and space using just a fraction of the normal work in processes inventory. For the enterprises keen to win and retain customer confidence, to realize efficiency and effectiveness in all business processes and to improve the chance of making profit consistently, Lean Manufacturing has proved to be a very reliable “good management practice”

    This workshop will cover important issues related to What, Why, When and How of Lean Manufacturing. The participants will be trained to carry out Lean Manufacturing projects in their organizations. The workshop will address issues related to how to realize world class performance in Manufacturing and the other related business processes of the supply chains in order to reduce cost, improve quality, enhance delivery reliability and improve all round business performance effectively. Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has put together a team of experts Led by MR.SB. OKON to facilitate a 2-day training workshop on LEAN MANUFACTURING CONCEPT. (April 25-26, 2012).

    Objective

    At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

    • Implement and maintain a company wide 5S programme
    • Recognise ‘waste’ and other non-value added activities throughout their organisation
    • Introduce a basic pull scheduling system e.g. Kanban
    • Set up a lean manufacturing cell
